Book Twelve: Sea Perils and Defeat

At first Odysseus visits the underworld where Tiresias tells him that death and destruction will follow unless him and his crew demonstrate self control. Then he talks to Circe. Circe warns Odysseus about the Sirens ,the six headed monster Scylla and Helios island ands how him and his men can`t eat his cattle. While going past the Sirens Odysseus ties himself down to his ship and doesn`t put beeswax in his ears while his men do put beeswax in his ears. When they went past Scylla, she ate six of Odysseus` men. Odyesseus` men ignore his warnings and eat Helios cattle so Zeus sends a thunderbolt and recks Odysseus` ship.
